383,282 Hearing Instruments Distributed Worldwide
Hundreds of millions of people worldwide have moderate to profound hearing loss in both ears.
People with untreated hearing loss can suffer from depression, isolation and withdrawal.
Children with hearing loss have difficulty learning and gaining the self-esteem to succeed in school and life.
In 1984, the Starkey Hearing Foundation started with a simple premise: "Alone we can’t do much. But, together we can change the world." With "So the World May Hear" as his goal, Starkey Hearing Foundation founder William F. Austin built an organization upon this vision.
Thousands of volunteers and benefactors from around the globe are making our mission to give the gift of hearing a reality. These people have affectionately become known as our “Hearing Angels” – the ones who either by dollar or deed express their love and care for children around the world by making a difference in their hearing lives.
As a Hearing Angel, it is your support that allows the Starkey Hearing Foundation to deliver more than 50,000 hearing aids annually through more than 100 hearing missions a year in countries stretching from the U.S. to Vietnam. Every dollar you contribute helps make a life-changing difference.
In addition to giving the gift of hearing, the Foundation promotes hearing health awareness while supporting research and education through our hearing conservation program, Sound Matters.
