Phoenix Suns, NBA Cares & SHF Team Up

March 31, 2009 – Phoenix, Arizona, United States

Phoenix Suns players, the SHF mission group and sponsor Discount Tire came away victorious in bringing the Gift of Hearing to grateful Arizona children and their families. Two-time NBA MVP Steve Nash joined teammates, Jason Richardson, Matt Barnes and Alando Tucker, along with former Suns players Mark West, Tom Chambers and retired Harlem Globetrotter, Meadowlark Lemon to witness and encourage the hearing recipients as they were fitted with digital hearing instruments. Together, with sponsor Discount Tire, they helped the SHF hearing mission team demonstrate our joint commitment to community through improved hearing.

Tampa Hearing Mission

May 4, 2009 – Tampa, Florida, United States

Local Tampa celebrities, Pop/R&B sensation Yashi Rice, Bob Buckhorn, political contributor for Bay News 9 and Al Austin joined Bill Austin to lead his team of foundation staff, local volunteers and sponsors to bring the Gift of Hearing to 100 Floridians in need. A La Carte Event Pavilion provided an incredible venue for the event and food for staff and participants. Sponsor representatives from Publix Super Markets Charities were also on hand to witness and encourage the children as they were fitted with their new digital hearing aids.

SHF Goes Country at CMA Music Festival

June 14, 2009 – Nashville, Tennessee, United States

Hearing Angels helped spread the gift of hearing at the Country Music Association’s Music Festival in Nashville, Tenn. The mission team was supported by CMA CEO Tammy Genovese, sponsors Big Machine Records and Music City Merchandise, with an impressive list of recording artists and celebrities, including country artist, Chuck Wicks.
