It is not often in life that you can say a single moment changed a life. But we can. When we came to Starkey and Sean received such a wonderful gift, his world was changed forever.
He enrolled in the Walker School in the fall and blossomed socially. I watched the boy who never spoke in class take a gold medal in the National Honors for Latin and place 3rd in the State in the Latin Championships. IN FRONT OF AN AUDIENCE!!! He made friends and said to me it was weird to be popular. He looks people in the eye and speaks up and out when meeting college recruiters, no longer mumbling along with his head hung down.
